Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park

Enjoy 5 miles of beautiful hiking trails through pine-oak-hickory forest. A visitor center offers 3 rooms of interactive nature exhibits and live animals. Visitors can also have a close encounter with a captive white-tailed deer and visit the bird of prey aviary to view live raptors, including a bald eagle. Park Nautralists are always available to provide park orientation and information. The park is managed by the Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Department to connect the people of the Ark-La-Tex with nature through interpretation and recreation.

Directions & Parking
From Shreveport take LA 173 (Shreveport-Blanchard Hwy) north to Blanchard and turn west one block south of the traffic light, next to the Post Office. The park is 2.8 miles west of Blanchard. It is also accessible from the east via I-220 to LA 173, and from the west via I-20 to LA 169 north to Longwood. LA 1 and US 71 proivde easy access from the north.

The park offers year round public programming for all ages, babies to seniors, By request Park Naturalists can provide free educational nature programs for students, scout groups, birthday parties, or any other organized group.
