Bossier Parish Community College Theater / the Cavalier Players
The Cavalier Players, founded by Stephen W. Slaughter in 1989, serves as the working support group for the degree program. The group actively supports campus and community activities by assisting with production, design, and technical support. The Players assist with campus productions such as the Ms. BPCC pageant and the student talent show. Every spring the club produces an original children's show that is performed for all elementary schools in Bossier Parish. This past year the Players received SB Magazine Memory Awards for Costuming and Scene Design for its production of You Can't Take it With You. No experience is needed to become a member of the Cavalier Players, just an appreciation of theatre and a willingness to try.
The Performing Arts Theatre and the Drama Program are located on the BPCC campus inside Building C at 6220 E. Texas Street in Bossier City. For more information about the Cavalier Players or the BPCC Theatre Arts Degree program, call the BPCC Drama Department at 318-678-6021
