Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR)
The mission of the City of Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation Department is to provide the citizens and visitors of Shreveport a wide variety of quality leisure services and cultural activities. Creating a diverse parks and recreation system is vital to our economy and the general welfare of our residents. With a network of 63 parks, 18 recreation centers, 10 swimming pools, and 46 playgrounds covering more than 29,000 acres – there is something for everyone. SPAR is fulfilling its mission through:
