A. B. Palmer Recreation Center

The A. B. Palmer Community Center, located in the Cedar Grove area of the city was named in honor of Mrs. A. B. Palmer a caring and giving philanthropist

Mrs. Palmer was a very special person. Mrs. Palmer liked to provide helping hand to others. It was something she had been doing for a good part of the 20th century. She tended to foster children, opened her home to black soldiers during World War II, and help found several civic and benevolent organizations.
