Disc Golf
Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation (SPAR) offers three Disc Golf Courses, Veterans Park, Highland Park and Ford Park. Disc golf is one of the best lifetime fitness sports. It is easy to learn, a healthy activity and accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels. If you can throw a frisbee and you like to have fun, you can play disc golf.
Veterans Park Disc Golf Course on Clyde Fant Parkway is a beautiful park located near the Red River. It is moderately hilly and lightly wooded with rolling hills and steep drainage ditches. It is lit for night play. 3 pin placements per hole for 27 holes. Walk through tunnel after #18 to play West 9. It is a 5944 feet, 27 hole par 81 course.
Highland Park Disc Golf Course, 1936 Coty St., is very hilly and moderately wooded. It is a 2500 feet, 9 hole par 27 course featuring lots of elevation changes.
Ford Park Disc Golf Course, 5784 S. Lakeshore Dr., is located on beautiful Cross Lake. It is well maintained and somewhat flat with some elevation. The park has many pines trees. Ford Park offers a lake view, covered picnic areas, bathroom facilities and playground equipment. The Disc Golf Course offers a Championship layout. It is a 7155 feet, 18 hole par 56 course.
