Red River National Wildlife Refuge
Offers public use opportunities for education and interpretation of nature, wildlife observation, photography and, on some of its four units, hunting and fishing.
The Refuge Headquarters Unit (555 Sunflower Road, Bossier City) is now open for walk-in visitors during daylight hours every day.
The Red River National Wildlife Refuge Annual Celebration is held in conjunction with National Wildlife Refuge Week.
Until the Visitor and Education Center is completed the RRNWR is open to the public for special events only. Special events include International Migratory Bird Day, nature walks, and NWR National Celebration Day. Other units of the refuge in DeSoto, Natchitoches and Red River Parishes are open to the public at various times. Call the refuge office for details.
