Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historic Site
Fort St. Jean Baptsite State Historic Site is a full scale replica of the wooden fort built in the 1730s to protect the early French settlement at Natchitoches. Featured daily are costumed interpreters who recreate the activities and lives of the colonial French inhabitants. Visitors experience outdoor cooking, soap making, musket firing, and many other 18th century activities. Also featured are a museum and theater with exhibits and an introductory video.Hours

Closed only on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
Admission
$2 per person; free for seniors (62 and over) and for children age 12 and under.School Groups - Free. Groups are asked to call in advance.
